I've uploaded a slightly newer version of DVD Play. This includes a file I (stupidly) forgot in previous versions in case of missing artwork.
I've also corrected the Amazon artwork code so that it will keep functioning after they switch to secure web service in August
Oh man thank you SO much for continuing to develop this... I've been running it since 04/09 and became pretty bummed when it was obvious nobody at lifehacker was continuing to develop it...
I havent tried this new version yet (been using .2), so I dont if any of this changed, but here's some suggestions I've posted elsewhere:
- Support for .mkv files
- Make it run a player of choice, rather than forcing VLC. (I even tried editing dvdrip.ini but to no avail.)
- Make it use only folder.jpg to generate DVD covers… if there are multiple images in the folder (like there usually is), it makes for a very sloppy display when it picks whatever image it wants
- Change background color from white! :( (My media PC is themed very slick and eye-pleasing, that white background just kinda ruins the effect!)

Mkv should be supported as the program just passes the folder to VLC and lets it decide what it can play beyond that.
folder.jpg shouldn't be too hard, AHK some file filtering things built in.
Other players might be more difficult - VLC will happily play a whole folder of files, other ones just want one video file at a time. If you have a folder with a whole series in, is playing just the first one ok?
I'll have a look at background colour changes, but i've not really experimented with the UI code much.
